Caring for your bouquet…
Put your bouquet in water ASAP!
When you get your bouquet home:
Always use a clean vase; it should be clean enough for you to drink out of!
Use fresh, cool tap water to fill the vase.
Add flower food packet according to the directions.
Then cut off half an inch or more of your stems at a 45° angle right before putting them into the water.
Place arrangements away from direct sunlight and in cooler areas; in other words, they won’t last as long on your deck or screened porch as they will inside away from an ultra-sunny window.
Try to change the water daily!
After 2-3 days:
As some flowers begin to wilt, just remove them one by one.
If water begins to get cloudy, just switch to a clean vase with fresh water.
You can also snip another 1/2 inch off the tips of the stems to help prolong your flowers.
If you run out of flower food, then you can use a couple of teaspoons of Sprite in the water of your vase. It substitutes nicely for flower food because it has sugar, acid, and preservatives.
Repeat this until your bouquet is ready to be composted!
Love to see you smile!
